Good Times!

I have not been too good at keeping this blog up to date. It seems like I have a few minutes to sit down & check my email, check out everyone's blogs, and then I am needed else where or I am so tired cause it is WAY past my bed time! :) There are so many fun pictures & videos that I have wanted to put on here, but most of it will have to wait, even then, it most likely won't be added.

My dad & my baby brother are here visiting right now. They left cold, dark, snowy Utah on Thursday & have been able to enjoy temperatures here in the mid to upper 70's! I am so glad the weather has been nice. I do miss Utah every now & then, but then I hear all these crazy stories about the absurd amounts of snow & am grateful that I live where it is a little, or should I say, A LOT, warmer & sunnier, too! In fact, when it gets down to the 50's here, we think we are freezing! I am so very grateful for the sun!

We took my dad & bro to the San Antonio Rodeo yesterday. Good Time! :) There were people from all walks of life there! Teagen got to hold a Western Hog Nose snake! Brayden & Teagen rode the Ferris Wheel with me & Grandpa! That was fun! They boys went down a big slide in potato sacks. Teagen & Brayden were able to do the kiddie bumper cars & they thought that was so awesome that they were able to drive their own cars! It is so amazing to me how ridiculously priced carnival rides are! But I guess I need to look past the expense & enjoy the memories in the making, right? We had a lot of fun & the weather was perfect! Olivia was a trooper the entire day. She was all smiles & loved hanging out with her Grandpa Tom! Dad & Rob leave on Tuesday. I think we'll take them down to the River Walk tomorrow! It is always so fun to have family visit! Hopefully they have had a good time here with us! Although, they were both up all night last night throwing up & on the pot! I know, too much info, but I feel bad that they have been so sick. They are both feeling much better now!

A few weeks ago, I turned the big 29! Happy birthday to me! Kiley was on call that day (of course)! A good friend of mine brought me some lunch & spent a few hours with me! The kids were really cute & wanted me to have a big birthday bash! So, after Kiley slept for a few hours the following day, we headed out to the base for a fun family outing. We went bowling & then got Subways for dinner. The boys both gave me beautiful necklaces that they each picked out on their own! Thanks Kiley & kiddos for a fun filled day! I sure do love you guys!

Cute 'lil Livy!

Olivia learned to clap a little over a week ago. It is the cutest thing! She is very proud of herself. She also has learned to dance. She dances while in her high chair, while nursing, and while getting her diaper changed! It's hard to believe she is almost 8 months old! Where has the time gone!?

I've been Tagged!

Okay, so I have been tagged a few times before & never followed through with it, so I thought today I would! My sweet friend Kristen is the one who tagged me.......so here's to you Kristen! :)

So, when you have read mine, if your name is at the bottom, I guess you're it! :)

The Rules:A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.B. Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves.C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

1. I am a total project starter & am always quick & excited to get going on things, but it always seems to take forever for me to complete these wonderful projects! In fact, when I start one thing, I automatically start on something else, and occassionally, I may even start on a third thing to make things more exciting! Maybe I have adult ADD! :) This mostly occurs when I am cleaning or organizing! I must say, that when the job does get done, it is AMAZING & almost PERFECT!

2. I have to have my clothes hanging in the closet a very particular way. They all have to face the same direction & have to all be color coordinated. Whites are always first, then off whites, blacks, reds, pinks, purples, blues, greens, browns, yellows, oranges, and greys. I used to seperate the long sleeved from the short sleeved & did the whole color process with them as well, but last night I cleaned out my closet & decided that it was time to have the short sleeve's meet the long sleeves! Isn't that ridiculous!?

3. I love to run! I know most people think I am crazy that I love to run. I think when I trained for & ran the St. George Marathon, I was the most content, happy person. I was doing something that I love every single day! I looked so forward to the long runs, 15+ miles! Unless you are a runner, you will probably never understand the LOVE of running, of course, anyone can become a runner & experience that love for themselves. Since being pregnant & then having Liv, I have not been able to really get into a good pattern of running. I have missed it & when I see people outside running, I really am envious & wish that it was me out there. I have started up again & hope to run a marathon or two before this year is over!

4. This one is a bad habit. Definetly something I am working on this year! I ALWAYS have good intentions of doing something nice or helping others out, but then life gets in the way & I just don't do these wonderful things. There's not much more that I can say about this one, except that I really do hope to start acting this year on the promptings I get to help others!

5. I have been told this for most of my life, at least from my early teens on, that I am a good listener. And with that, I am a good talker as well! :)

6. I am a very EMOTIONAL person! For those of you who know me well, I cry at the drop of a hat! I wouldn't say that I am ultra sensitive & get my feeling hurt easily, but I am very intune with my emotions. I cry over silly commercials or things I hear on the radio. For instance, a few days before Christmas, a local radio station that I listen to put on an entire Christmas for a family & even hooked them up with a Disney Cruise & all. I was bawling like a baby! Poor Brayden was not sure what to think of his crazy mom! :) I can't get through any lesson I teach at church with out a few tears shed! Not that it is a bad thing, but I don't necessarily like wearing my emotions on my sleeves!

Okay, that was fun! Let's see....... Kelly Galbraith, Jess Cutler, Andrea Nelson, Racheal Bassett, Becky Platt, & Natalee Webb-TAG, YOU ARE IT!

Merry Christmas Y'All!

Do I dare admit to everyone that I took all of our Christmas stuff down today??!! Yes, I guess I am a Scrooge this year! It has been in the 60's all week. Christmas day was bright & sunny. I am trying hard not to complain, but this is my very FIRST year EVER not at home in Utah with family. I know it sounds pathetic, but to me, Christmas is all about being with family, and yes, I do have my own little family, but I am all about "The More the Merrier!" So enough of my complaining! I do love this time of year and despite the fact that we couldn't be home with the snow, we still managed to have a good time with our little kids. Kiley was on call Christmas day, so we made some arrangements with Santa & he was able to come to our house a day early. We woke up Christmas Eve morning & enjoyed watching the kids open up their gifts. I think they were most excited when they saw the deodorant in their stockings! They love to use Kiley's, so he thought it would be good to give them their own! We were lazy all morning and then took the kids to see Alvin and the Chipmunks. It was actually a really cute movie. Afterward we decided to go to dinner. We played games for a while and then it was bedtime. Kiley was gone to the hospital first thing on Christmas morning. I packed up the kids and headed up to our good friends, the Platt's house for a nummy Christmas dinner. It was a beautiful day so we took all the kids to the park to play. Sure didn't seem like Christmas at all. Oh well. Kiley was off yesterday, so we took the kids to Sea World. It was a lot of fun! Teagen & Brayden both won stuffed Shamu's. Teagen won a huge one & Brayden won a cute little one. Kiley is on call for New Year's Eve, so it will be just another day. What would the world be like if we didn't have Doctor's??? Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to Y'all!

Can You Believe Christmas is ALMOST Here!?

Where has the time gone!? I feel like I am treading water & getting no where these days! I can't believe Christmas is just 2 weeks away. I am really not ready. BUT I don't think we will even be celebrating Christmas or Christmas Eve on the 24th & 25th. Kiley will be starting up ICU on Sunday & will most likely be on call for those 2 days. I thought I could get past it with out the boys even getting it, but Teagen told me today that Christmas is on the 25th & when he wakes up that morning, Santa will have already come. So, I am not quite sure how we are going to work that because I really want Kiley to be here to celebrate & to see the kiddos opening their gifts.

I am hoping to get my Christmas cards out tomorrow. I really wanted to get them out last week, but I have been waiting for ever to get my pictures back from Costco. I just got them this afternoon, so I should be getting them out SOON!

I really have good intentions of trying to keep this blog up to date, but I think that until life slows down, it will be hit & miss for me! The pics are from decorating our little Charlie Brown tree a few weeks ago. We let the boys go to town with the ornaments. I have been really good & haven't even changed it around. I figure it's for them & they like it the way it is!

This week is a busy one for us. I am hosting book club this month at my house. We decided that since it is the holidays, we are all taking the MEYER-BRIGGS personality test & we'll all discuss our different personalities & we are also having a children's book exchange. I think it will be lots of fun! We also have a couple of Anesthesia parties this weekend to go to. Should be fun!

We hope you all are enjoying the holidays!!

PS- I was just released as Mia Maid Advisor at church & put in as 2nd Counselor in the YW's. If you have any suggestions for activities, send them my way!

Trip to Utah: family parties, wedding, & thanksgiving!

We went to Utah on the 16th & got back on the 23rd. What a fun, but quick vacation. For those of you who know me, if we are in Utah, we usually stay at least 2 weeks, so the 7 days we were there were jam packed with more than enough things to do! Sorry to all of you who I was not able to get with. We seriously had something going on every day with family. My little brother, Shawn was married the day before Thanksgiving to Jessica Ellingson. She is darling & I am so excited to have her as the newest member of the Webb clan! Several of my dad's siblings were in town for the wedding & for Thanksgiving. We were able to have my grandma & pa Webb sealed after Shawn & Jessica were sealed. It was a very neat experience! We were able to spend a fun day & evening with Kiley's family. It was good to see family that we haven't seen in quite some time. Thanksgiving was at my parent's house. We were able to sneak away for a few hours & head up to Kiley's sisters church & spend some time with the Mortensen clan once again. It was a great trip & I feel that I am suffering POST VACATION BLUES. I am not sure when we'll be back up there & that leaves me a little sad, but I am SO grateful for the time we were able to spend with everyone & hope that it won't be too terribly long before we are able to visit again. With this being the Thanksgiving season, I feel that I need to share with you all what I am thankful for.
**I am thankful for:
My wonderful husband, who loves me unconditionally! I must admit, there are times I should not be loved, but he sees through those times & still loves me!

My beautiful children! I really am thankful for them & I am not trying to convince myself that I am either! :) They certainly keep me on my toes & can most definitely bring out the worst in me, but I love them with all of my heart & feel so blessed to be called their mother!

My Webb Family & my Mortensen Family. I have wonderful parents, siblings, in laws, etc.! We are blessed to have such wonderful family!

My beautiful home! I must say I really do love my house. It is hard to keep up with, but it is so fun & it is my haven when I need to hide away!

My great friends! I have been blessed with some really wonderful friendships, some that I know we shared before this life & will continue on with in the next!

And last but not least, I am so thankful for my Savior. I can not find the words to express my gratitude for Him. With Him, all things are possible!

Camping in Texas

So shortly after Halloween, the weekend BEFORE my lovely stay in the hospital, we took the kids camping with some of our good friends. We went to Garner State Park, which was about a good 1 1/2 hours away. We had so much fun! The kids loved hiking & playing in the water. I also managed to get stung by a bee on my left hand. I have been stung before in the past & have never had much of a reaction. My hand was HUMUNGO!

A little behind.....

It has been quite a while since I last blogged! I have been so busy these past few weeks, but now I have a few minutes to play catch up! We enjoyed the Halloween Holiday with lost of fun activities! We went to our friends house, the Anderson's, & carved pumpkins & decorated sugar cookies. Of course, the dad's did most of the pumpkin carving.

The boys had tons of fun trick or treating. We had so many trick or treaters at our house that we had to use the candy that we didn't think was so good that the boys had gotten trick or treating. We sure had some interesting people come to the door. There were TONS of teenagers without costumes out trick or treating & I even had 2 adults come all by themselves wanting candy. WEIRD! Texas sure does have some UNIQUE people here.

A fun few days in the hospital......

So, I have been meaning to up date our blog with all our fun pics & stories from Halloween & from a great weekend of camping, but unfortunately.....I have not been able to do much these past few days! Kiley was on call Monday (meaning he went into work at 5 am & would not be home until around 7:30ish Tuesday morning). I went running a few miles in the morning & then met up with my good friend Kate to go on our almost 5 mile walk we do every day. I noticed that my side hurt a little, but didn't think much of it. Well, come early evening, I am not feeling so hot. I thought for sure the flu was coming to pay me a visit. I fell asleep around 10:45 & not even 2 hours later I am running to the bathroom. I didn't get a wink of sleep from then on. I threw up around 30 times & had diareah as well (you all are so glad to know that right!?). I paged Kiley around 3:30am & told him I was on my death bed. I had a piercing pain on my right side & I thought that for sure what ever I had was more than just the flu. Well, Kiley got home several hours later & helped get the kids out the door. I laid around all day hoping I would feel better & finally at 4 I decided I needed to head to the ER. In the military world, we get to experience Socialized Medicine. To some of you that means absolutely nothing, to others, you understand why I mention it. We dropped the kids off at our friends house & off we went. I had to drink Contrast, which is AWFUL, so that I could get a CAT SCAN. To make a long night & story short, they decided it was Appendicitis(sp?) & were ready to rush me up to the OR to be operated on. Of coarse, I was not really prepared for that, but figured oh well, it may help me loose these last 10 lbs! :) Just kidding! Any how, the Staff OR Doc came & talked with us & he just wasn't convinced by the CAT SCAN that is was my appendix. They kept me overnight to monitor me. Well, they decided to keep me for 2 days, 2 LONG days & the out come????? Nothing is wrong with me. My blood work is perfect & I am in great condition. They aren't sure what it all was. I guess I just really needed a break from Mommy & Wifey world! :) I got home this morning & was so excited to see little Livy. I am so glad that she takes formula well & that I didn't have to worry about her. I did send a few bottles home with Kiley after I pumped, just in case we ran out of formula. Any how, I am so grateful for my health & for all the wonderful friends that I have here in Texas who helped our little family out so much these past few days! I feel so blessed & loved!
The picture is scarey, but this is me as of this morning! I sure look happy to be home!

Kiley takes the boys to Teagen's soccer practice every Wednesday evening & then to the actual games on Saturdays. Well, the boys LOVE to listen to Kiley's music (a little bit of Mottley Crew (sp), Bon Jovi, etc.). They rock out to it & have memorized several songs. Brayden really enjoys singing along with the songs & so I thought I'd share one of his favorites with you all!

We also had our church TRUNK OR TREAT last night & had a blast! I invited our neighbors who don't go to our church to come along. Katherine (our neighbor) is an OBGYN resident & she is the one who delivered Olivia. She ran into several people there who knew her & they would all say, "Hey, you delivered our baby last year!" or "I know you from some where!?!?" And then they'd realize they had seen her for an appointment. Kind of funny! Any how, it was fun & the boys had a great time!

Fun Weekend at the lake!

We went out with some good friends of ours to their lake house yesterday. It was a BEAUTIFUL day, about 88 degrees. We went out on the boat & went Wake Boarding & Knee Boarding. Kiley DRAGGED Teagen off the boat & made him get on the knee board. He ended up really enjoying it. Our friends have two kids around Teagen & Brayden's ages & they are great at skiing & wake boarding. Teagen LOVES the water & is a wonderful swimmer, but he gets pretty upset when we try to get him to do new things, kind of like me! :) I do have to say, that I learned how to Wake Board back in June & hadn't been since then & got up my first try yesterday! I am so sore in spots I didn't realize could be so sore, but it sure was fun! Livy was so good on the boat. She sat in her car seat for most of the time & was happy & super smiley! Brayden is sick with a yucky cold, so he just laid in the front of the boat & slept for the most part. We are terrible for taking him out, but the rest of really needed to get out & enjoy the beautiful weather!

Another pumpkin patch!

Kiley had work off today & Teagen had the day off from school, so we decided to do something fun. We went with our friends, the Anderson's to the LOVE CREEK PUMPKIN PATCH. It was a lot of fun! There was a lot more things to do at the one we went to in Hondo, but we still had a great time! We were hoping to carve pumpkins tonight for FHE, but it is still pretty hot here & I'm afraid the pumpkins would have gone rotten before Halloween, so I think we'll do it next week. We got some great pictures of Olivia. She LOVED the pumpkins and had a lot of fun doing her "photo shoot!"

More pics from our weekend!

The Corn Maze.....

Saturday evening we took the kids to a corn maze/pumpkin patch in Hondo, TX. It was a beautiful drive (only about 30 min.). It was nice to get out of the more congested city life & see some great open country! The boys absolutely loved the corn maze. Teagen wasn't too thrilled about it, but then Kiley helped him to see what an adventure it would be & by the end, he wanted to keep on going! I managed to follow along quite well while nursing Olivia at the same time! I am sure it was enjoyable for all those around to see! :) Luckily I have my great "hooter hider" that keeps me pretty covered up! Any how, we went on a hay ride, the boys jumped on this big bouncy thing (not too sure what exactly it was), they also went on a tractor ride, played on a funky slide, & got to shoot corn out of a little cannon type thing. They both hit the markers with their corn & won some Kettle Korn. They thought that was pretty neat! It was such a fun night & the weather was pretty nice, too! I think Fall is finally on its way, it is still HOT during the day, but the evenings are starting to cool down. I sure do miss this time of year in Utah! All of you who are there, enjoy it for me!
